Beijing Send Off Ball

Venue: Battersea Evolution, Battersea Park
A spectacular and unique celebration dinner hosted by Gabby Logan and Steve Cram took place at Battersea Evolution, in Battersea Park on the 18th June 2008.
The event was supported by a number of past and present Olympians and celebrities including Lord Sebastian Coe, Duncan Goodhew, Mo Farah, Leon Taylor, Nick Knowles, and WCE wrestling star Ray Mysterio to mention only a few.
In addition to some fine food and wine, the event featured live music from multi award winning artist Jamelia, an interactive quiz, a silent auction, and a live auction compered by TV auctioneer Charlie Ross.
The event raised more than £80,000 which will be divided between supporting Team GB and Children's medical research charity; Sparks.

1908 Centenary Polo Match

Venue: Guards Polo Club, Ascot
One hundred years since London first hosted the Olympic Games, the British Olympic Association made history by restaging the 1908 Olympic polo final between Great Britain and Ireland.
Great Britain were victorious beating Ireland 6-3 in the game which was held at Windsor's Guards Club.
Great Britain captain Malcolm Borwick scored four goals, including a spectacular long range effort .
For him the match had special meaning. His great great uncle Pat Nickalls played for the Roehampton Club which won Olympic gold at the 1908 Olympics.

Atos Origin Golf Series

The BOA and Worldwide sponsor Atos Origin recently staged the eighth series of corporate Golf days at top venues across the UK. Numerous individuals played along side a host of well known Olympians as they chipped and putted their way to the Grand Final in sunny Adalucia, Spain.

Great Wall of China Trek

Venue: Great Wall of China
Between 16th May - 26th May 2008, a group of intrepid volunteers spent 10 days trekking along the fascinating Great Wall of China, just a few months before the Olympic Games were due to take place in Beijing.
Steve Cram, Steph Cooke and Steve Parry were amongst those who made the journey while raising valuable funds for the British Olympic Foundation.

Scottish Olympic Gold Ball

Venue: Pacific Quay, Glasgow
The stunning new BBC Scotland headquarters in Glasgow provided the venue for this year’s Scottish Gold Ball held in mid April.
With Olympians spanning 60 years of Olympic Games history in attendance, it was an ideal showcase of the contribution that Scottish Olympians have made to Team GB success over the years.
HRH The Princess Royal spoke about the need for fundraising on the run up to Beijing. All funds raised on the night will go towards preparing Team GB for the Olympic Games this summer.

Clive Woodward's Golf Day

Venue: Stoke Park Golf Club
The 18th October 2007 was an unseasonably warm and sunny day in the beautiful surrounds of Stoke Park Golf Club. The day commenced with guests witnessing the unbelievable tricks provided by former World Golf Trick Shot Champion, Paul Barrington. The shotgun start in this inaugural rugby players versus Olympians golf day saw 13 teams playing with Olympians such as Steve Redgrave, Mark Foster and Steve Parry. The rugby players included Matt Perry and Matthew Burke, captained by Clive Woodward.

Olympic Gold Ball 2007

The BOA’s President HRH The Princess Royal welcomed over 500 guests to the Natural History Museum in London for a star studded night of entertainment at the BOA’s seventh annual Olympic Gold Ball.
