St. Moritz 1948
Richard Bott, one of three British athletes who finished in the first eight of the Skeleton Bob at St Moritz in 1948. Bott came 6th. The others were James Coates (7th) and John Crammond, who won the bronze medal.

Helsinki 1952
Sprinter E MacDonald Bailey trains at Lilleshall for the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. In a terrific finish, Bailey gained bronze in the 100 Metres, his time equaling that of the winner Lindy Remigino of the United States.
