About The Sport

Diving is an incredibly specialised aquatic discipline in which athletes leap from platforms or springboards elevated to a height of three metres and 10 metres above the pool. It requires physical poise and great courage.

During their fall, they do a number of spins, flips and twists before hitting the water at speeds of up to 55kph. The divers are awarded points for how well they achieve the jump, which is multiplied by a factor representing the dive’s difficulty.
