Goldie Sayers represented Great Britain at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. She reached the javelin final, which saw her break the British record with a throw of 65.75m, she narrowly missed out on a medal by just 38cm.

Since breaking the British junior record in 2001, Goldie has gone on to become one of Britain’s leading field event athletes. She was the youngest female athlete to compete in an individual event at the Athens Olympics and was rewarded for her dedication with the British team captaincy in 2007.
