Section heading - Biography

Marilyn Okoro made her Olympic debut at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. She reached the semi-finals of the 800m and finished sixth. She was a also a member of the 4x400m relay team which reached the final and finished fifth.

Okoro started the 2009 season well, winning the Aviva Glasgow International and the Aviva Birmingham Indoor Grand Prix, when her winning time was narrowly outside Kelly Holmes' national record of 1:59.21. Okoro finished out of the medals in the 800m at the European Indoor Championships, ,howver, in the 4x400m relayshe anchored Britain to the silver medal with a gutsy sub-53 seconds last leg.
