Emily Freeman made her Olympic debut at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. She qualified for the 200m semi-final and placed seventh. Freeman was also a member of the 4x100m relay team, the British quartet reached the final, however, after a change over mix-up they were disqualified from the race.
At the 2009, World Championships Freeman qualified for the 200m final after running a lifetime best in the semi final and finishing third. In the final, she finished seventh.
Freeman qualified for the British team at the 2002 Commonwealth Games and the following season, made her international debut in Glasgow, running in the 4x100m and ever since, the Wakefield Harrier has been a stalwart on the British relay team, making the World Championships squad in 2005 and helped Britain to the silver medal at the 2006 European Championships.
