Ben Swain made his Olympic debut at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games; he competed with Nick Robinson-Baker in the 3m synchro dive and placed seventh. Swain also competed in the 3m springboard and placed 26th.

At the 2009 World Championships, along with Robinson-Baker, Swain competed in the 3m synchro dive and finished seventh and the 3m springboard where he placed 35th.
