Section heading - Biography

Loughborough University swimmer Liam Tancock competed for Team GB in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. He placed sith in the 100m backstroke and eighth in the 200m individual medley.Beijing was Tancock’s first Olympic Games, however he already had plenty of World, European and Commonwealth level experience and medals to his name already.

At the 2009 World Championships in Rome, Tancock, won 50m backstroke gold in a new World Record time - 24.04. He also set a new British record in the 100m backstroke, finishing fourth and placed seventh in the 4x100m freestyle relay.
