Hannah Stewart, Archery

13 Jan 2009

I'm busy training at Brisbane just now - and it's hot, hot, hot !! lol.  My training is going really well and I'm getting used to this weather, by painting on factor 50 every morning.  Tomorrow, we fly to Sydney, which will be cooler and then the competition begins on Wednesday.  The Opening Ceremony takes place on Wednesday at 4pm.

A slight problem happened during a windy training session - four of my twelve arrows shattered on the target frames.  My Team management kindly scoured archery suppliers to find my exact arrows, thankfully they had success and I've been using the new arrows for a few days now.  Not exactly the sort of thing you want to happen at this point - but definitely better to have happened in training rather than the competition.

Our Team had a break from training on Saturday, whereby we went to the Gold Coast - it was absolutely stunning.  The waves were enormous.  I bravely paddled up to my knees lol, then heard the following day that a couple of people had been attacked by sharks.  Crikey!!

Anyway - I'd better get back in action again - will catch up with you soon.
