Emma Pooley competed in the Road Race at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and played a key role in helping Nicole Cooke take gold. Soon after the road race, Pooley won silver in the Olympic women’s time trial event.
A former cross-country runner, Pooley switched to cycling after an injury prevented her running and has since proved to be a talented road rider.
Pooley first represented Great Britain in 2007 in the Road World Championships where she finished eighth in the Road Race and ninth in the time trial.
