Section heading - Biography

At the  Beijing 2008 Olympic Games David Florence competed in the men's slalom C-1, solo whitewater canoeing event. He finished second overall, winning the silver medal behind Slovakian world number one Michal Martikán.

At the World Championships Florence and Richard Hounslow teamed up with duos Timothy Baillie and Etienne Scott and Colin Radmore and Daniel Goddard to win team bronze. Florence also won the World Cup Series.
