At the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Bradley Wiggins successfully defended his Olympic title in the 4km Individual Pursuit, winning Gold in a new Olympic record time. In doing so he became the first ever rider to successfully defend their pursuit title at an Olympic Games. In Beijing, he also won gold in the team pursuit, where the team broke the World record twice!

Following on from a remarkable 2008, which saw Wiggins win five gold medals at Olympic and World Championship level, he turned his attention full-time to road racing.
