Section heading - Biography

At the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Chris Hoy won a historic three cylcing Olympic golds, (Team Sprint, Individual Sprint and Keirin), and was voted the BBC Sports Personality of the Year. Then to top of an already remarkable year he was awarded a knighthood in the 2009 New Year’s Honours list.

Born in Edinburgh, he left Moray House School of Education (University of Edinburgh) with a degree in sports science in 1999.

As a child he rode in BMX, but he is now first and foremost a Kilometre time trial rider.
